Automatic Wedding Speech Writer:Bride's Speech

How does this work? Just follow the instructions, choosing the multi-choice boxes, and filling out the forms as they come along.

We'll start by thanking the speaker who introduces you - pick either of these:

Now you'll need to add the names of the the people you want to thank, and a brief description of what they've done. Fill them out in the box below. Now you could finish with thanks to the various parents involved.

If you'd like to say something more to your parents or close friends, you could add some lines here. For example, you could say: "I haven't always done things exactly the way you might have expected, but you've always supported me, and I appreciate that more than I can say."

And now we're going to tell some stories about the reasons you two have come to be getting married. To begin with, choose one of these:

Not all of you may know this, but For those of you who don't know already

Now choose one of these to talk about the time when you could first tell there was something special between you:

the first time I knew there was something special between us was the first time I think it started getting serious for us was

Then describe a time that suits, for example"the night we had a dinner party that went all night":

and then follow on with one of these:

That's because it was the first time we really got to know each other.That's when we discovered we liked the same kind of music. That's when we realised our first impressions were wrong.

And tell them how that changed things for you.Of course, that didn't change everything right away or anything.From then on, I knew he was the right one.Even so, at that time, I don't think either of us guessed that this would happen.

Now, we're going to talk about the effect you've had on each other since then.

Add your groom's name here.

Now choose one of these lines to describe his influence on you since then:has changed my life quite a bit since then.can tell you that we've both changed since then.will tell you that we've learned a lot more about each other since then.

Start with a bad habit he's got you out of:

He's shown me that it's not such a good idea toHe's persuaded me not to

Put an example here, say: "Slow down to a walk when I'm jogging"

And now a bad habit he hasn't cracked:

And he's still on my case aboutAnd he hasn't given up yet on talking me out of And I'm probably going to have to say goodbye to

Describe something you really ought to give up,but can't, say: "Chocolate chip cookies"

Next, add a bad habit he's getting out of:

I've made some ground as well. He's given upOf course it works both ways. I've managed to stop him And for my part, I've talked him out of

Finish the sentence off by describing something he's a bit shaky on - say "playing poker on Tuesday nights."

Add a bad habit he's slowly getting out of:

And I've definitely convinced him that life can go on withoutAnd the days are numbered for And it won't be long now before we say goodbye to

And finish this sentence off with some kind of bad "addiction" of his that you're trying to bring to an end, say, a TV sports show.

At this point, you could make it more interesting by telling a story or two. Can you think of a time when he did something that made you realise that it might be a good idea to make a change to your old ways? What did he do to make you give up? Don't worry if you can't think of anything right now, just leave a note here to remind yourself later.

Put your story in here:

Now you can go on to talk about some of the important reasons for getting married.

Start by choosing one of these options:

So we think we make a good team.So we've already gone through quite a bit.

Then one of these:

We have a great time with each other We enjoy our life with each other We really seem to think the same wayWe enjoy the things we do together most of all

And finish off with one of these:

and that's what matters most.and I'm just so glad we're doing this.

Now say just a little more about your partner. Start by writing your groom's name here:

And then choose one of these qualities:

is patient and thoughtful,is kind and considerate,is great fun to be with,is the nicest person I know,is understanding and caring,

And choose one of these:

He's smart and he's fun to be with,He's always positive and he's always full of life,He knows what's smart, and he knows what's right,

and he means so much to me. and I'm glad he'smy husband.

Of course these are just a few options. Use them as a guide for now, and work on them as you edit and practice your speech. Think about your partner. Are there some words to describe him more accurately? Just add them to your speech as they come to mind.

Now we're going to finish with a toast.

If you'd like to follow the conventional routine, you should toast your hosts, who are traditionally the bride's parents. On the other hand, you might like to do something novel. You might like to think about arranging each of the toasts around the same theme. Take your pick - a year, a favourite film or TV show, a sports team, a city. It gives you a chance to come at the speech from your own unique point of view, and make it more interesting.

So choose one of these:

Of course this couldn't have happened today without all the help of our hostsIf it wasn't for (subject of toast) I don't think we would be here today

And then add one of these:

So I'm very pleased to make a toast toSo it's our pleasure to ask you to join us in toasting

And add the name of subject of the toast here:

To make it work better, you could lead up to this toast with a few lines setting the scene, by telling a story that explains why you've chosen the subject of the toast.
