Wedding Cake Jubilation
Wedding cakes are a tradition that has been carried down through hundreds of years. Every culture has a different ritual that is involved with their cakes and the cutting of them but most do have such a symbol. In the past the bride only performed the cutting of the cake. This act symbolized the upcoming loss of her virginity. Things have changed and evolved over the years and now both the bride and groom cut the cake. They cut the cake and feed the first bite to each other now to symbolize the promise of a whole new life together. One that will be shared as equal partners. While the meaning of the cake and the cutting thereof has changed the tradition of having one is still the same.
Your wedding cake has to be gorgeous and it has to taste like heaven right? Okay, then to make sure that everything in the cake department goes according to plan you need to make sure that you choose the right baker. Before you even begin to think about what you want your cake to look like you need to know what you want it to taste like. Most bakers will allow you to sample the different types of wedding cakes that they make if you ask. You will want to do a tour of the different bakeries in your area to find the perfect cake for you and your wedding. On this tour you need to be asking the various bakers some very important questions. Ask the baker if he or she does custom cakes. If you know exactly what you want your cake to look like you need a baker that will be able to recreate your vision to perfection. And you should always ask to see a portfolio of their past cake designs. You need to be able to trust that this person is going to be able to create for you the ultimate wedding cake or else you will be worrying about it constantly until the wedding day is over.
If you have been struggling to come up with a creative idea for your wedding cake perhaps you need to start thinking outside the box. I mean really outside the box. Wedding cakes do not have to be round or square, they can be any shape whatsoever. Hearts are a sweet choice and flower shaped cakes are really attractive. This type of shape looks unique and they are perfect for summertime weddings. Have you given any thought to the flavor of your wedding cake? There are many different flavors and fillings for you to choose from. And if you cannot decide on just one choose a few different ones. If you are having a tiered cake you can have each tier be a different flavor. Another great idea for the wedding cake is to have some color in the frosting. There is no need for you to go with the same old white frosting if you don’t want to. Jazz it up; any color goes on a wedding cake. You may want to consider decorating the cake to match the reception room decorations. It is up to you, have fun with your wedding cake!
